Sabahat Raees, MD

MD

Sabahat Raees graduated from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University in 2025. She is an Ob/Gyn resident at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL.

Dr. Raees is originally from Karachi, Pakistan and immigrated to the United States as a baby. She
graduated from Benedictine University and majored in Health Science with an emphasis in
Interfaith Engagement. In undergrad, Sabahat was involved in UNICEF, Tri-Beta National
Biological Sciences Honors Society, Interfaith Dialogue Group, and volunteered at a local
hospital in the mother/baby department. Sabahat aims to provide culturally competent care to
women of South Asian and Muslim backgrounds, so they can feel comfortable and safe when
receiving obstetrical and gynecological care. In her gap year before medical school, Sabahat
worked as an overnight OB Scrub Technician in Labor & Delivery at Alexian Brothers Hospital to
cultivate her knowledge and clinical experience. She has pursued multiple research projects,
including, "Hijab in the OR" which aims to evaluate the number of hijab-wearing women in
surgical specialties and how they can be better accommodated in the operating room. In her
free time, Sabahat enjoys reading books, watching movies, travelling, and spending time with
her family.
